Vijay Pande from A16Z – an AI doctor on your phone who’s with you 24/7. Talking to you from the moment you wake up and monitoring everything all the time. — I think that sounds about right.
Zack from Jazz predicted: comfortable clothes and a the return of fat fashion (it’s uncool to be skinny in 2030.) — Maybe!
Others predicted more testing, diagnostics, and supplements.
My own handful of predictions (let’s see how they hold up) —
By 2030: 5 years, 5 blockbusters. Each as significant as the GLP1s. Starting with pain, this year. The new nerve drug for pain makes opioids obsolete and will create much other transformation. 4 more to go…
Longevity 2030 – it has been flat for a bit, but I predict measurable longevity results globally by 2030. Because of what already exists. GLP1s. Obesity is already falling in the US. Costs are falling. Penetration is rising. Obesity is what makes heart attacks and strokes happen (25% of mortality.)
Cell and gene therapies. 50% of people will have a gene therapy by 2030 – of some kind, perhaps wrinkles or hair color, but something. (I might be off by 5-10x, but today’s number is <100th of 5%.)
Drugs reborn; bad ==> good. Bad behaviors get defanged. Eg alcohol or drugs that don’t come with harms. Already happening really, if you check the gummy counter at most California shops.
