I hadn’t heard it explained well, till hearing Greg Bailey lay it out here from minute 25:
- Ketone energy (from fat not carbs or protein)
- How it metabolizes in heart (better function), brain (clearer thinking), better lifespans (in mice)
- Why too much bad fat and protein are not ways to do it
- What a good way might be (BHB, “good fat” as your calories), which is a way to do it without long fasting (have calories from BHBs available easily vs after processing all bodily resources)
Plus some pointers to animal diets as a benchmark (not the “caveman” ultra-high protein)
