Lease lengths in commercial real estate (source, via) are getting shorter.
Though residential moves in the US have been falling for a long, long time. (My theory: It’s probably that people are living longer and don’t need to move when they are old.)
Some startups I have seen recently are focused on lease swapping and other aspects of rental mobility.
One I love is Common (hicommon.com), partly since I’m a small investor there.
