Charles Baudelaire on entrepreneurship

The Parisian symbolist bohemian is writing about artists but he may as well be talking about the feeling and mindset of startup founders and entrepreneurs.

// Pour soulever un poids si lourd,
Sisyphe, il faudrait ton courage!
Bien qu’on ait du coeur à l’ouvrage,
L’Art est long et le Temps est court //

To carry such a heavy burden,
You’d need the spirit of Sisyphus!
Even as one’s heart is in the work,
Art is long and Time is short.

He goes on to be a bit more cheerful — many gems buried in the deep and flowers raging in the the forest.

So go for it!

Or…?
