New podcast episodes: diversity and women in history

Two great new episodes are up on In the Know

One is Bari Williams – a Silicon Valley all-star lawyer who happens to be one of the few African-American women in one of the ecosystem’s that struggles most with diversity. We get into it.

Stacy Schiff wrote one of the best books I read last year — Cleopatra — and led me to a few of her other fantastic titles: the biography of Nabokov’s wife, and the story of the Salem witch trials. Cleopatra was a fantastic military leader, diplomat, queen, the richest person in the Ancient world, linguist, and more. Vera Nabokov was an essential partner to the great writer. And the tale of the witches has much more going on than the male historians have managed to tell so far. We talk about how significant contributions by women in history have been remembered.
